Former Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i has finally spoken out about speculations surrounding his absence at the United Alliance Government rallies. “The truth is, my calendar had already been fixed when they fixed theirs. I had engagements to flag off Jubilee Bahati offices, and to attend the Gusii, Kuria, and Migori aspirants’ meetings, as well as the Murang’a event, on that particular Saturday. So canceling them for rallies would not have been right,” He said. His absence from the rallies had prompted political analysts to question his political moves, given that many felt he should have been fully involved in the opposition’s unified government activities. The outspoken CS gave an interview today to clear the air on the issue and put everyone at ease. Dr. Matiang’i has been one of the politicians that many eyes have been on as politicians continue speculating about who will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022 and who among them will succeed him come 2027. His presence or absence at certain public events have since been treated as political statements that has caught many in the country intrigued. photo courtesy Post navigation Dr. Fred Matiang’i Visits Victim of Alleged Political Violence in Kisii, Condemns Rising Intolerance
