Acting Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President McDonald Mariga has moved to calm concerns surrounding the federation’s leadership, assuring partners, sponsors, and stakeholders that FKF remains stable and fully operational.

Speaking amid recent internal tensions within the federation, Mariga emphasized that there is no leadership vacuum and that the organization continues to function normally despite the ongoing discussions around top leadership.

According to Mariga, FKF’s main priority remains the growth and development of football in Kenya, and he urged both existing and potential partners to continue supporting the federation’s mission.

“We want to assure all our stakeholders that FKF is stable. There is no vacuum in leadership, and all operations are running smoothly,” Mariga stated.

His remarks come at a time when questions have been raised over the federation’s governance following recent controversies that have attracted public attention. However, Mariga maintained that football activities across the country, including league management, national team preparations, and youth development programs, remain unaffected.

He further called on sponsors and corporate partners to increase their involvement in Kenyan football, saying stronger partnerships are key to improving the sport’s standards and ensuring long-term success.

Mariga noted that collaboration with private sector players is essential in supporting clubs, improving infrastructure, and creating better opportunities for players at all levels.

The acting FKF boss also reassured fans that the federation is focused on transparency, accountability, and restoring confidence among all football stakeholders.

As Kenyan football continues to navigate administrative challenges, Mariga’s message appears aimed at reinforcing confidence and ensuring that the federation’s work remains on track.

With major competitions and national team commitments ahead, FKF will be hoping stability at the top translates into progress on the pitch.
